AYSO Small Sided Games Program

Ayso has gone towards a small sided game philosophy in the U6, U8 and U10 divisions. Region 112 will be  implementing these guidelines over the next few seasons. The 1999 fall season was the first season that we implemented some of these changes. The 2000 season is our next phase of implementation. The following comparison will outline the projected changes to our 2000 fall program.

AYSO is implementing this new program to help better prepare our young kids for future soccer development. By limiting the sizes of teams and the number of players playing at one time, they believe that the kids will get more touches on the ball and be much more involved in the actual game. They have developed specific practice programs for coaches to follow (all our coaches will be getting  a copy of the division appropriate manual) to help them better understand the program and the philosophies behind it. If you would like a copy of your divisions manual, please contact the Chief Coach. This will of course mean we will need a lot more coaches and referees to cover the extra games! So please volunteer!!!

As more information is available we will update the site to keep everyone informed.
